Program Goals

To empower church worship vocalists to sing with freedom and confidence, enhancing their performance capabilities through a deeper understanding of vocal and respiratory systems and music literacy. To teach them how to articulate their thoughts concisely for short speeches during musical worship on stage, and to integrate their ministry into a broader understanding and practice of spiritual disciplines.

Curriculum Intro

  • Vocal mastery

    The course is designed to introduce vocalists of church music groups to the basic knowledge of the structure of the vocal and respiratory apparatus, its functions and the basics of sound formation. It focuses on mastering the skills of respiratory compression and anchoring, and developing vocal and respiratory skills. We will discuss and practise the skills of sound formation and anchoring. We will get acquainted with modern techniques and the expediency of their use. We will learn to analyse and interpret musical material. We will expand the possibilities of our voice and learn to use it confidently.

  • Musical literacy in worship

    This is a fundamental course that includes the following sections: music theory, solfege and harmony. This course starts with the basics and gradually moves on to more complex elements of musical language in the context of contemporary worship music. The course will help you develop your musical ear (intonation, pitch, harmony, rhythmic, harmonic); musical thinking and musical memory as a basis for practical skills; and creative abilities to compose and improvise.

  • Spiritual formation of the individual

    This course will help guide students to an awareness of the importance of the inner world and the need for spiritual discipline. It will help to establish a holistic view of biblical spirituality, its close relationship with emotional maturity, and promote the practice of spiritual disciplines. The course will help you to discipline your life, meditate on Scripture, practice public prayer, and navigate your life's purpose.

  • The role of singing and singers in worship

    This course will focus on an important form of worship - communal singing - and its importance in the worship of the church. We will talk about the importance of singing praise to God and analyse the Bible's teaching on singing. We will discuss the challenges to this practice and the importance of its place in the worship of the church.

  • Psychology of the performer

    You will be able to learn about the psychological aspects of singing and performing. The course will cover the topics of psychological preparation for performances, controlling fear of the audience, relaxation techniques and stress management. The course will also help to develop stage confidence and maintain psychological health.

  • Public speaking in worship

    This course will introduce you to the techniques of performing in front of a camera or a live audience, including vocal and physical expression, as well as the ability to express emotions through speech. The course will introduce you to various techniques and strategies that help you reach your audience effectively and perform confidently on stage. We will also improve our communication skills of rhetoric and persuasion, develop clarity of expression and the ability to work with the audience.

  • Vocalist self-discipline and the importance of constant self-development

    The course addresses the importance of self-discipline, continuous self-development and improvement in achieving vocal excellence. The course also helps to develop the ability to control oneself, set and achieve goals, and work systematically and efficiently. The course focuses on improving the ability to plan and be disciplined.
