We are overjoyed to witness the blossom of our graduates as they embark on their journeys in ministry, following their aspirations and dreams.
However, not all their aspirations and dreams come true amid the ongoing war, being replaced with war-related experience. Recently, following a somber occasion of the second anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Tina Ovcharuk, one of our graduates of the ‘Music Ministry and Theology’ Program released an original song ‘Hurts’ that brings up the depths of emotions stirred by the ongoing war.
The songwriter poured her heart and soul into this composition, channeling the profound pain and sorrow inflicted by Russia’s unprovoked and unjustified war against Ukraine. Each note, each lyric, bears the weight of collective suffering of the Ukrainian nation, yet within that sorrow lies a beacon of hope that shines defiantly. Tina and her team crafted a melody that speaks volumes, striving to convey the depth of anguish every Ukrainian has come to know intimately.
Through this song, our alumnus extends a heartfelt plea for solidarity and support, urging listeners to join in the chorus of unwavering belief that truth and justice will ultimately prevail. It’s a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the power of music to unite, heal, and inspire to change.
It is also worth mentioning that other UETS alumni, Roman Leshchuk and Vitaliy Ovcharuk , contributed to the instrumental side of the song, shaping the artistic vision in music and ensuring the song’s emotive resonance with the audience.
