Mariia Kuchurian

My name is Maria Kuchurian, I am 23 years old and I was a student of UETS. I studied at the Department of Music and completed 2 courses. My musical path began right there, because  I had not studied at a music school or other music institution before the seminary. It was during my studies that God began to reveal my vocal and musical abilities through instructors, lectures, and conferences. After one of the conferences, Music in Worship, where our foreign instructor Rob Still @robstillworship talked about different ways of writing songs, I had a great desire to try, and two songs were written in my freshman year. One of them is “I will sing” (not completely).

Later, when I was a second year student, we had the subject “Instrumental Arrangement” with Sasha Kostikin @sanctusness , where he taught us how to make arrangements for our songs. Then Diana  @imcaramelka and I decided to sing my song “I will sing” together.

Later, in the project @wholeheart.live, she helped me to add the lyrics, improve the song, and now it is our joint product 💛

After 2 long years, @sanctusness offered me to send this song to the contest for the second Ukrainian-language Christian album, because he liked it very much back then. And I sent it!

At the time when I thought that music is not for me, and I do not want/will not sing, the Lord decided otherwise! My song was included in the album! It was a great challenge for me in many aspects, but I wanted to overcome my fears and follow the Lord! It turned out to be a huge blessing! For Diana @imcaramelka, the project also became a great support and joy.

When I thought, “Why did my song get into the project at such a difficult time for me?” (My husband and I were living abroad at that time), the Lord has arranged for me to come and be with you at the presentation of this wonderful project! And he said to me: “This is not your song, but Mine! And I take it for My glory! ”
