As of today, UETS offers 16 programs, which include traditional bachelor’s and master’s programs, as well as shorter-term certification programs that meet both the acute wartime ministry needs and the high standards required by the Ukrainian government.

Our History

1992-2000
1992-2000

The religious freedom Christians in the former Soviet Union had long been praying for and started enjoying immediately after its collapse brought about the need for competent ministers who would lead newly-planted churches. Following decades of persecution of believers, when theological education was unavailable, UETS started making its first successful steps towards systematic training of national church leaders and achieving its strategic development goals.

2000-2012
2000-2012

While developing its campus, the seminary offered new bachelor’s programs in Theology, Worship, Counseling, as well as a master’s program in Transformative Leadership. Its faculty, students and graduates embarked on mission trips, planted new churches, founded new ministries, and contributed to the conversion of new believers in Ukraine and neighboring countries.

2012-2019
2012-2019

UETS graduates expanded the geography of their mission field by going on short-term and long- term missions to India, Nepal, Kenya, the Faroe Islands and other countries to minister to unreached people groups. This period was also marked with campus renovations, learning environment innovations, substantial faculty development and publishing projects.

2019-2022
2019-2022

Despite challenges caused by COVID-19 limitations, UETS continued running its programs and providing training to UETS students. Online learning instruments were integrated into all programs. The seminary launched new satellite programs both in Ukraine, and abroad. A new program in counseling, which was launched in addition to the existing pastoral program, gave a strong impetus to the UETS presence in Central Asia, enabling the seminary to train and equip key church leaders and counselors from Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan.

2022-2025
2022-2025

A month after the Russian Federation started its unprovoked aggression against Ukraine on February 24, 2022, UETS resumed its educational ministry online and launched a large-scale relief ministry. Due to the support of UETS partners, the seminary managed to rebuild its campus which had been severely damaged by six rockets as well as provide thousands of meals, firewood and wood stoves, generators, and Bibles to the elderly, disabled and others in need. In addition to its bachelor’s and master’s programs, the seminary offered short-term certification programs to meet the needs of the church and society in war-torn Ukraine. Also, UETS received government licensing, which, together with accreditation from the European Council for Theological Education, opened new ministry opportunities.

Our Vision

To see the values of God’s Kingdom embodied in all spheres of life in Ukraine and beyond.

Our Mission

To provide comprehensive education for Christian by preparing them to participate in God’s mission through faithful service to the Church and society.

Values

Christ-Centeredness

Jesus Christ is at the center of our life, relationships, and our learning. Christ carries out His mission not alone, but within the loving relationship of the Trinity, offering us a model of teamwork, mutual support, and authentic community. From Christ, we learn servant leadership and the meaning of the incarnation: to be present among others, to listen with compassion, to serve with humility, and to transform the world through love.

Integral Mission

We do not divide life into spiritual and non-spiritual. God has a purpose for all of creation. Our ministry embraces the spirit, soul, and body of a person, and seeks to holistically transform all areas of society. A holistic mission can only be accomplished together, through the collaboration of different ministries, gifts, and professions.

Responsibility in Freedom

We believe that true freedom always comes with responsibility. At the seminary, this means making conscious choices, acting with integrity, and showing love toward others. We value interdenominational diversity and foster constructive dialogue, where different perspectives become opportunities for mutual enrichment, growth, and shared service.

Relevance and Innovativeness

We strive to ensure that the seminary’s programs and ministries are always relevant to the needs of the church and responsive to the challenges of today’s society. Our approach combines the church’s historical heritage with new ideas and methods, preparing leaders who can serve effectively, influence communities, and address the real needs of people here and now.

Statement of faith

We believe that the canonical books of the Holy Scripture are the verbally inspired and infallible Word of God, the perfect revelation of the will of God for the Salvation of all mankind. The books of the Bible are the unique authoritative rule for all questions in Christian faith and life.

We believe that there is one Creator God, perfect and eternally existent in the Holy Trinity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, each with personality and deity.

We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man. He was manifested in flesh through the Virgin Birth, and died on the cross for our redemption. He was raised from the dead, lifted up to Heaven and sat down on the right hand of the Father. He is our High priest and Reconciler.

We believe that the Holy Spirit glorifies the Lord Jesus Christ, and convinces people of their sins, revives them for a new life, dwells inside of them, fills them with power for a godly life and ministry.

We believe that man was created by God in His own image, but fell into sin and died spiritually. He can be revived for salvation and spiritual life only through faith in Jesus Christ, thanks to the work of the Holy Spirit and to the Word of God.

We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection is the one and only basis for the salvation of all people who repent from their sins and through the faith receive Jesus Christ as their Lord, are born of the Holy Spirit and become children of God.

We believe that Baptism in water and the Lord's Supper are commandments of the Lord, which are fulfilled by Church. But without saving faith, these don't provide salvation in and of themselves.

We believe that true Church of God consists of people who are revived by the Holy Spirit through faith in Jesus Christ and united in the one body of Christ.

We believe that Jesus Christ is our Lord and that He is the Head of the Church and that every local church is under His guidance.

We believe in the second coming of Christ, which includes the rapture of the saints and judgment of the quick and the dead.

We believe in resurrection from the dead: for Christians it will be for glory, eternal happiness and bliss; for unbelievers it will be condemnation and eternal suffering.

We believe in the necessity to fulfill the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus Christ (Mat. 28:19-20).
