All technical elements of the subject’s vocal skills will be understood in the context of the composition’s holistic musical drama (dynamics, phrasing, stylistics).

The aim of the course is to prepare students for the practical application of a holistic understanding of worship in the context of the contemporary local church.

  • Arranging musical worship

The course covers practical skills that every worship leader needs. Particular attention is paid to song strategy: what constitutes a ‘strong’ worship song and how to build your repertoire in a way that maintains theological balance and a balance between ‘old’ and ‘new’ songs; how to choose keys that are comfortable for general singing; how to build a coherent musical and thematic concept for a worship service, etc. In addition, it raises issues such as the principles of effective rehearsal, communication and behaviour of the worship team on stage, working with limited musical resources, and more.
