On November 18-22, 2025, the Ukrainian Evangelical Theological Seminary (UETS) has the privilege of welcoming Dr. Gregg Okesson, Professor of Leadership and Development at Asbury Theological Seminary, a missionary and renowned Christian author.
During the weekly chapel gathering on Tuesday, Dr. Okesson addressed UETS faculty and staff, emphasizing the church’s role as a public witness across different spheres of public life.
In addition to the pastoral consultation planned with Ukrainian pastors this weekend, one of the key elements of the visit was a colloquium titled “Government Ecology: Evangelical Leadership in a Turbulent World,” led by Dr. Gregg Okesson for UETS faculty.
The topic significantly contributed to the Theology of Citizenship field of research, which is of increasing relevance across the developing world, including Ukraine.
During the event, Dr. Okesson presented his latest multidisciplinary research on leadership, politics, integral mission, and related topics. He also answered a number of questions from UETS faculty members, fostering an engaging and insightful discussion.
We are deeply grateful to Dr. Gregg Okesson for sharing his extensive knowledge and experience, as well as for his personal presence with us during this challenging time.
We also extend our gratitude to Asbury Theological Seminary, our partner institution with whom UETS has previously signed a Memorandum of Partnership, for standing with us in various ways, particularly by sharing the expertise of its leading faculty.
