Ukrainian Evangelical Theological Seminary has received a license of the Ministry of Education and Sciences of Ukraine for the third (educational and scientific) level of higher education – postgraduate studies which lead to the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Theology with a diploma of a state standard.
Amidst and despite the hardships of the war, we have managed to make this historic step for theological education in Ukraine: for the first time, an evangelical theological institution offers doctoral-level studies recognized by the state.
From now on, the seminary offers a full cycle of theological education — bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees.
At the same time, UETS, together with its partners — Odesa Theological Seminary and Eastern European Institute of Theology — is launching the Eastern European Doctoral School. The educational and scientific program in Public Theology will be launched within its framework, aimed at training researchers and teachers.
Its goal is to form generations of evangelical theologians and scholars who research and write in their native language, work in their cultural context, and engage in meaningful dialogue with society.
This initiative is of particular significance during times of full-scale war, when issues of just peace, social trauma, and the public voice of the Church become extremely important. The Doctoral School strives to be an open academic environment for exploring these challenges and serving the Church and society.
