On September 15, 2023, the Department of Theology of Ukrainian Evangelical Theological Seminary held a panel discussion Challenges Pastors are Facing at Wartime.
During the panel discussion, pastors from different parts of Ukraine delved into an interesting conversation that raised a number of important and acute questions, in particular:
– What is the position the church has shaped during the full-scale invasion?
– Do all church members share this position?
– How has the war affected churches?
– How is the church treating believers who are servicemen?
– What challenges will the church face after the war is over?
Despite different ministry contexts, the discussion participants and their churches condemn the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and continue working and serving at their localities.
There are many more challenges and work ahead of Ukrainian society. However, we believe that the church will continue playing its important role in the ministry to its nation.
This is the second public discussion that crowns a study session within the short-term program Mission of the Church at Wartime, which, along with Social Ministry Workshop and Counseling Basics, is one of the three short programs launched to meet the immediate ministry needs of churches and the suffering Ukrainian nation.
