New Program in Young Leadership

UETS is about to launch a new program for young church and ministry leaders which is called Formation of Young Leaders. This is another out of a number of certificate programs, which, together with short-term programs such as Mission of the Church at Wartime, Social ministry Worship and Counseling Basics, have proved their relevance and effectiveness in conditions of the ongoing war.

As a matter of fact, the growing number of ministry-related needs churches are currently dealing with, including relief efforts, require timely and competent response. It means that quite a few of UETS prospective students, being actively involved in ministry to different vulnerable groups and war victims, find it difficult to commit themselves to studying in our traditional four-year bachelor’s programs but, at the same time, need competence to handle various ministry-related challenges more effectively.

The program, which includes six study sessions, is intended to train and equip young church leaders in three important areas:

– understanding of the Bible and principles of its interpretation

– ministry development in consistency with contextual needs

– development of the leader’s skills in team work

In other words, along with foundational aspects of Old and New Testament studies, Hermeneutics and Homiletics, students will study modern communication tools in church ministry, fundraising, team-building and conflict resolution. Special attention will be on leadership skills of a young leader.

Considering that many church and/or ministry leaders had to go to relatively safer areas of Ukraine or even abroad either due to imminent danger, loss of property, there is a lack of competent church and ministry leaders.

Pray for God to bless UETS to make its contribution into the raising of a new generation of Christian ministers who would run a growing number of ministries in the war-torn Ukraine, especially in regions affected by the war.
